Today I'm taking a moment to reflect on one of my favorite projects, my very own little sister's wedding!
My sister met her fiance several years ago while working at a local movie theater. They had a shared loved for movies and a movie theater is where it all began so it only made sense that they incorporate a movie theme into their wedding planning. From the Save The Dates, all the way to the reception venue with was a local renovated historic theater now known as The Redmoor, movie themed elements were sprinkled throughout.
My sister quickly learned that having a graphic designer for a sister meant her stationery possibilities were endless.
We started with a Coming Soon movie poster as their Save The Date. Their engagement photos made the perfect backdrop for the movie theme poster. Cameron picked a photo for one side and Tenisha picked a photo for the other sides.
Next up was the wedding invitation set. We choose to channel the Academy Awards with a grand envelope opening experience. We choose a metallic horizontal pocket fold to hold her invitations and enclosure cards. The ensemble was sealed together with a belly band. We chose a big bold font to showcase the couples personality and my sisters love for the color blue.
Guests were greeted at the church with this lovely tri-fold ceremony program that showcased all the important ceremony details.
We carried her signature wedding font over to the wedding reception where it was used on everything from the signature drink signs at the bar to the table tents that were on each table.
Both the bride and groom picked 12 of their favorite movies to use as table numbers. Each table tent featured the movies coming soon poster and their favorite quote from the movie. For the reserved tables we chose to print "SOLD OUT" instead of "Reserved" and "THEATER NUMBERS" were used instead of "table numbers". A giant poster with all 24 movie picks was placed on an easel at the entrance.
A few table tents that featured the couples engagement photography as coming soon posters.
A photo booth was available at the wedding reception reception. I designed a small version of the couples wedding logo and provided it to the photo booth vendor. The logo was printed at the bottom of each photo strip that guest were able to take home as favors. This added touch complimented the entire stationery suite.
And our last tribute to the movie theme. We placed an assortment of traditional movie theater candy at each place setting with a simple sticker that said enjoy in the form of old fashion theater ticket.
I hope you enjoyed these photos as much as I did. Thanks for stopping by!
